Bolstered by her over 20 years of experience in building materials, when the Realtor® she was working with offered Jennifer a job at the brokerage, it was a strong choice. After six years as the operations manager, leveraging her sales, marketing and financial background, she made the move to get her license. She missed sales and being out in the world dealing directly with people and decided it was time to get back out there. Since then, she’s spent several successful years on a team focused in the Grand Blanc area of Michigan. She serves an area with a nearly hundred-mile radius, including Brighton-Howell, Genesee, Oakland, Livingston counties.

The area is known for being dotted with lakes and the comfortable small town/big town feel. From favorite haunts like the Eclection’s, A Ladies boutique to the Corner Bar and Grill, Jennifer is eager to introduce clients to the amenities of the area, including independent restaurants and the local art museums. Seasonal events include the 4th of July parade and the Frankenmuth ice sculpture festival. The outdoors itself is a year-round attraction, from the many water activities on the lakes to hiking, skiing, wine tasting in Traverse City, and the excellent park system.

About thirty percent of her client base comes directly from referrals, an impressive number for someone recently licensed. She has a skill set that builds rapport and trust. With her background in building materials, sales and finance, she has an excellent sense about the value of a property and what it would take to improve it. She concentrates more on the client than the sale and is happy to play the Jiminy Cricket on their shoulder, telling them not to settle for less than their must have list. She keeps the relationship going with open lines of communication, lots of follow-up and back and forth conversations. After the transactions close, clients have shared bad experiences they have had in prior deals and tell her they wished they had come upon her sooner.

When setting up new listings, all attention goes to professional photography and video shoots for prime visibility. Then there will be social media posts, boosting, postcards, good old-fashioned door knocking and coming soon features to get that property in front of the most eyes. After the sale, Jennifer keeps in touch by email and text, handwritten notes and the occasional pop by gift. Pies, lottery tickets and birthday cards are about real interest and friendship, not just being salesy. Her techniques brought in over $5 million in transactions last year, and her eyes are on $7.5 million for 2022. She has been honored to help over 30 families.

It’s gratifying to help people. Jennifer recognizes this is one of the biggest investments for a family, and she likes helping them set up the next part of their story, getting them a good value that they’ll be happy with. Helping people is a core value for Jennifer, and it shows up in her involvement with many local charities, often through the ForACause group, allowing clients to choose a charity to support with a portion of the proceeds from their sale. There’s also the incredibly unique Lasagna Love, bringing lasagnas to food insecure families. For taking care of herself, it’s out in the garden, kayaking on the lakes or reading a good book. Then it’s setting her mind back to work and the prospect of starting up her own team in the future.
