Columbia University’s gates, closed in 2023 in anticipation of demonstrations over the war in Gaza, are at the center of a lawsuit. In an emailed statement, a university spokesperson said the school is “focused on ensuring that all of our students feel welcome, safe and secure on our campus as we also balance the desire for an open campus that is accessible.”
