This one-bedroom, one-bathroom house is in Topanga Canyon, a few minutes by car from Topanga State Park. A charter school that runs from kindergarten through fifth grade is five minutes away by car, as is Inn of the Seventh Ray, an organic restaurant and popular event space. Top of Topanga Overlook, which has views of the San Fernando Valley in one direction and the Pacific Ocean in another, is less than 10 minutes away by car, and driving into Woodland Hills takes 15 minutes.

The shops and restaurants of Calabasas are also within a 15-minute drive, and Thousand Oaks is half an hour away.

Indoors: A wood fence separates this house from the street, with a gate to a path that leads to the front deck. From here, a glass door opens to the kitchen, which has Saltillo-tile floors and high ceilings. The appliances are stainless steel, and tucked into one corner is a home office nook with a built-in desk and shelves. The house is being rented fully furnished.

On the other side of the kitchen is the living room, which has a deck-facing door and wood-paneled ceilings. A fireplace is tucked into a corner of the room and shelves are built into a recessed alcove.

The bedroom is off the living room, with a ceiling fan and windows that have treetop views. Like the living room, the bedroom has access to a deck. Off a built-in office nook is the bathroom, which has a combined tub and shower, white tile and a tall row of built-in cabinets.
